Austrailia's Most Experienced Operator

The Stone Burier is very versatile and unique in the way it works.  It is operated by a four wheel drive 120 hp tractor which turns the soil, buries stones/rocks (up to 150 mm in diameter)/branches/debris to a depth of 220 mm, screens soil, levels, seeds and rolls all in one pass with one operator. In this process, the soil is screened to a maximum size of 20 mm which is brought to the surface and provides ideal mowing conditions where no damage occurs to mowing equipment.

The quality of finish is exceptional, turning rough ground into perfectly level ground and seed germination is exceptionally high. Due to the seed being placed under the soil, after the initial watering the watering requirement is less than what is required for hydromulching/hydroseeding, plus the seed is more stable therefore it is not washed off during watering.  The reason for this is that the cultivated soil allows moisture penetration, whereas watering of hydromulched areas is usually applied to compact soil.

The Stone Burier has a working width of 2200 mm and a working depth of 220 mm or less.  The deeper the cultivation the larger the object can be buried.

Another major benefit of the Stone Burier is that we can apply either 1 (high quality turf seed) or 2 or more different types/sizes of seed (for example Couch and Rye) at the same time, through our computer application system which allows us to apply the exact amounts of seed required.

The Stone Burier is ideal for many uses as follows:

SOIL PREPARATION FOR TURF LAYING
The Stone Burier provides a finish of perfectly levelled, screened & rolled soil, providing the ideal ground for laying turf, particularly in large areas

SOIL RENOVATION & SEEDING AT TURF FARMS

Conditioning the soil whilst burying stones/rocks/branches/debris, screening the soil with the perfect application of seed creates ideal seed beds for turf growth

REPLACING THE NEED FOR HYDROSEEDING / HYDROMULCHING FOR ROAD WORKS / ALONGSIDE MOTORWAYS / ROAD DEVELOPMENTS
This is the most cost effective and efficient way of seeding due to the Stone Burier replacing the need for bobcat work, labour for picking up sticks/stones etc and then hydromulching/hydroseeding.

In addition, the seed germination is exceptionally higher due to the seed being placed under the soil and moisture being able to penetrate the seed bed, therefore after the initial application of water, further water applications can be reduced to a maintenance programme.

SOIL CONDITIONING PRIOR TO PLANTING
Ideal for loosening soil and burying stones/rocks/branches/debris, whilst having the ability to add organic matter and fertiliser (increasing the soil microbial activity therefore adding life to the soil). In addition to this, water is easily absorbed to help tube stock growth.

REDUCING COMPACTION THEREBY IMPROVING DRAINAGE
The Stone Burier conditions the ground whilst in its operation it takes chunks of the ground from the lowest part of the cultivation, therefore breaking up the clay pan. If the ground is compact, we recommend ripping (using our three point ripper) prior to use of the Stone Burier.  In this process, organic matter and fertiliser can be added to condition the soil to allow for less compaction in the future e.g. lime & manure.

GOLF COURSES / SPORTS FIELDS & PARKLANDS
Preparing the soil for stolonising and turf application or seeding. The Stone Burier does not require the old turf to be removed, because it will be buried.

ACREAGE / FARMS
With the application of organic matter and fertilisers, we have the ability to turn old turf or clay type soil into beautiful lawn at a more cost efficient way.  Laying turf onto clay will result in poor quality turf.

SEEDING IN HIGH PROFILE AREAS

Using the original soil and adding the right ingredients, this is the most cost effective way of achieving the ideal turf.
